Snow...Snow...Snow...
Wow, can we say SNOW?! On Sunday a group of 8 GSC riders headed to Long Sault Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club's Pancake Breakfast. It was a nice ride from the Ganaraska trails over to Long Sault's clubhouse where they served an awesome breakfast (getting us ready for ours in a few weeks! - Feb 1st...don't forget!!)
After filling our stomachs we headed back to the Ganny for a few hours of fun on the trails. Bill led the way of our 7 sled group taking the brunt on the freshly fallen, and still falling snow that he was plowing for us.

Not sure that Kevin realized how deep it was when he decided
to park here but don't worry his Ski-doo made it out ;)
As a passenger I got the chance to really enjoy the
incredible beauty of the snow in the forest.
I took lots of pictures but I think this one is my favorite.

Don't forget...if you have some pictures or want to share your sledding experience, email us at gsc_blogger@yahoo.ca and we can post it on our blog. If you are having an event and want us to post it on our blog, also email us.
We will try and get posts up from the weekend and one mid-week with reports on how much grooming we have done, some safety tips etc. Please check back often. You can even subscribe to our blog and get emails when we put a new update.
Thanks for coming to check us out.

We had to stop a few times for Bill to find his sled under all the snow :)

Welcome to our Blog!
Saturday was a beautiful day to be out on the Ganaraska Forest snowmobile trails. My name is Shona and I am one of the executive members of the GSC. My husband Rick and I headed out with Bill Stapleton (GSC's President) on the trails Saturday to check out the new signs and have a nice day sledding. As I was sitting on the back of our 2 up taking pictures of the beautiful scenery I thought about how nice it would be to have a blog for our members and visitors to our trails.
We will use the blog to update you on the events that are happening in our area, post pictures of our trails, volunteers and events. If you are out on the trails and want to let everyone know about your day or you take some pictures that you want posted, email us at gsc_blogger@yahoo.ca and we will add it to the blog.
Here are a few pictures I took on Saturday, enjoy!
Club President Bill and Vice President Rick showing off our new sign with map box. We have 3 new signs like this one throughout the forest. It includes the District 3 map also.
Following Bill on the trail (this is our new blog picture). Such a beautifully groomed trail, thanks to our awesome groomers!!
Mid-morning we stopped to have a chat with the Volunteer Trail Patrol Wardens. We really appreciate all our volunteers that help to keep the trails safe and fun for us all.
After a morning of sledding we headed to the Forest Centre where the Canteen is OPEN for business both Saturday and Sunday's from 9am - 4pm. The food is home cooked and very reasonably priced (the big bowl of chili and bun for $3.50 was awesome) ...make sure to stop in!
Here is Ross at the Canteen :)

and the final picture of the day is a reminder of the GSC's Poker Ride & Pancake Breakfast. Registration and Breakfast starts at 9am on Feb 1st at the Forest Centre. Don't miss out on the fun!!
